Update October 2024 from BPSD
o As a community our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors throughout the Southeast. The devastation brought by Hurricane Helene is tragic. We remain grateful that Bear Paw experienced minimal impact from the heavy rain and winds. Erosion control that was put in place this summer on challenged roadways performed as anticipated. After the storm passed, Chuck Lovingood surveyed the roads and communicated with the BPSD Board to ensure our roadways were safe and secure. Our newly installed fiber optic internet connection provided unforeseen benefits to the Service District following the storm. We will continue to access impact and will discuss further action in our upcoming regular meeting.
o The next Regular Meeting of Bear Paw Service District is October 19, 2024 at 9am sharp. The Bear Paw Property Owners Meeting will follow the Service District Meeting.
o In preparation for the 25/26 Bear Paw Property Owners Association Election, 4 Board seats will need to be filled during the upcoming election for the term which begins July 1, 2025. We are urging Property Owners with the time and abilities to serve the community to make their interests know by forwarding an email to admin@bearpawnc.com. The quality and success of our community is dependent on the active participation of its property owners. Please consider participating.
o We experienced a successful summer in Bear Paw this year. Special thanks are due to Mike Maul for his contributions to the operations of the pool this past season. Many residents noted the water quality in the pool to be exceptional this year and Cherokee County maintained our permit throughout the season. Mike’s daily dedication is greatly appreciated!!
